by Pete WalkerStatus as of 9/21/2015: I have been reading this book slowly (I started at the end of June 2015) but am almost complete. I am considering reading it a second time because I relate to the content so much and have learned a great deal from it. Some pages have brought me to tears and have taken me quite some time to process. So far I rate this book five stars out of five (5/5) stars. It is very informative for anyone who has experience childhood trauma brought on by a dysfunctional family.

Bene Brown is wonderful. I have just got her book ‘Daring Greatly’. I think you will enjoy it and find that you are already practicing the things she has discovered through research. Best wishes to you

There is a free Ebook called Resurrection After Rape by Matt Atkinson the is helping me a lot. It has been awarded for the quality of the work Matt has done in working with women who have survived sexual violence an is used in rape crisis centres a lot in the U.S.
I thought the title sounded a bit religious but it’s actually a very practical and very thorough non faith based workbook. Atkinson believes that it is important that survivors have a chance to express what the rape meant to them and how it impacted them relationally and their own beliefs about the world. It has some fantastic theory chapters on flashbacks, panic attacks and the survival responses.
